I’m back with another round up of my month. Now we’re in October, I think we can officially say that Summer has ended and entering Autumn. Actually one of my favourite seasons, when I can dig out the cosy knitwear again, and layer up whilst drinking hot chocolate in front of the fire… Who am I kidding? It means mostly wet and windy school runs, whilst tightly clutching my chai latte and fighting with my umbrella (which actually blew clean out of my hand last week!) and trying not to get totally and utterly drenched!

Anyway, whilst I battle with those, here’s a little update on what I have been up to over the last few weeks:

Business

The main focus of September was Sophia & Danny’s Sangeet and Wedding Day in the Cotswolds towards the beginning of the month. I’ve been working with this super gorgeous and lovely couple for almost a year, and I was so excited to see everything finally come together for their weekend of celebrations. My husband was also delighted that this wedding had finally come around, as our (shared) office was filled to the brim with props, stationery, and styling bits and pieces, so he would finally be able to move in there!

We started off the weekend with a Sangeet event in Burford for almost 200 guests, of which the majority had flown in from India and the US (despite the nightmare with the BA strikes that weekend!). It was a beautiful explosion of colour, particularly with the absolutely stunning outfits that guests arrived in. With a Fusion wedding, it’s always so lovely to see all guests really embracing the culture of the event and choosing something stunning in traditional colours to wear – just so beautiful. We selected paisley linens in an array of pastels for the tables, with the most gorgeous displays of florals by Eden Flowers paired with my Nkuku brass lanterns and mirrored brass trays to create the centrepieces. The Travelling Pub Company provided a stunning wooden bar and a delicious selection of drinks for the evening, whilst the Spice Lounge offered the most delicious curries I think I’ve ever tasted! It was a really wonderful fun evening, and it was so nice to get everyone together ahead of the wedding day for a few dance performances from family members, as well as a fabulous welcome to the UK and the Cotswolds for those who have never visited before.

The following day saw the main event, which was a joyous day of celebrations at Cripps Stone Barn in the Cotswolds. The sun shone, the whole wedding party shook what their mama gave them for the Baraat Procession, and the most wonderful Priest had everyone in tears and fits of laughter for a fabulous Ceremony underneath a ceiling of overflowing foliage and huge blooms by The Rose Shed. A fabulous feast of sharing dishes from the catering team at the venue followed by dancing long into the night with The Wedding Smashers made this day such a special celebration; lots of love, laughter, endless fun, and a true joy to be at. It was such a pleasure working with the loveliest couple, as well as a super talented team of suppliers – it really has me on such a high by the end of these amazing weekends, and truly reminds me of all of the reasons I do what I do. Don’t get me wrong, it brings incredibly long days, hard physical work, and a number of stresses occasionally, but seeing those smiley delighted faces and the emotion of two families coming together really makes the hard parts just fade away…! Family & Home

We spent a weekend in West Sussex, as we always do every year, for the Goodwood Revival. If you haven’t been before, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a vintage car event at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, and the smell of engines mingles with some of the worlds most iconic race cars for this three day festival each September. It showcases the glamour and romance of motor racing as it used to be. My dad has raced at the Revival for the past 11 years, and this year our daughter Bella gained an entry into the Settrington Cup; a mini race for 4-10 year olds in vintage Austin J40 pedal cars. It was quite a nerve wracking experience for her to begin with, but once she got on the track she was so excited to be there and doing it – she couldn’t stop smiling when she crossed the finish line, and I couldn’t be more proud of her! Such an amazing experience and a wonderful event to watch 🙂

Chris and I have just spent a long weekend away in St Tropez and Cannes, to catch a little more sunshine. It was lovely to spend a few days together and explore the beauty of the southern coast of France, which was just what we needed after a busy Summer. One of our favourite restaurants was La Guerite, on ile Sainte Marguerite, which is reached by boat from Cannes. Such a beautiful setting overlooking Cannes, and the food was just delicious!
