Heckfield Place is one of those places you just instantly fall in love with the moment you arrive.  It truly is a beautiful example of English history – the epitome of Georgian elegance, and has redefined luxury for hotels in the UK.

An eco-friendly estate, Heckfield’s sustainability mission is in full swing with its on-site bio-dynamic farm supplying much of the kitchen produce. They use clean energy, and are planning to replace all plastic bottles with aluminium receptacles. Even the glass and ceramic in the minibars and the bath products in each room are sourced from local suppliers.

They have a total of 45 rooms, including 6 suites, 2 restaurants, a bar and their Little Bothy spa. The spa uses ethically sourced, all-natural products from the hotels own Wildsmith Skin range. Set within the tranquility of the walled garden, Heckfield Place have the most beautiful Sun House, which hosts Afternoon Tea during the Summer months and can also be hired for private gatherings.

As a wedding venue, Heckfield Place has a number of options. For 30 guests or more, the hotel is hired on an exclusive basis for a minimum of two nights. There are a range of rooms within the house for a Ceremony and Reception, depending on guest numbers and the setting/views. The Assembly Room is their largest space with moveable walls to suit smaller or larger celebrations. The Dining Room upstairs is perfect for smaller, intimate lunch, or for a Rehearsal Dinner the night before a wedding. The hotel offer a completely bespoke offering, curated to suit each couples individual needs.

Wilderness Reserve

Hosting just a handful of weddings each year, the whole estate at Wilderness Reserve is available for exclusive use. With all of its beautiful farmhouse buildings and country homes, the possibilities are infinite. Eliminating any of the usual hotel restrictions, this venue allows couples the freedom to create their own distinctive English Garden wedding celebration.

For a Ceremony, the Drawing Room at Sibton Park is licensed for up to 100 guests, or outdoor woodlands can accommodate a larger number of guests. The baroque Church of St. Peters is next door, bringing some old Suffolk charm.

With the run of the estate, the options for a Reception really are endless. Whether you would prefer a more formal setting within one of the larger homes on the estate, a custom built structure within the woodlands, or an English Garden feel within the wildflower meadows. Their Orangery, with its foliage inspired lighting fixture, can seat 140 guests, and is a perfect setting bringing the outside in.

Syon Park

 

Brentford, Middlesex. TW8 8JF

The spectactular London home of the Duke of Northumberland, Syon Park holds 600 years of history, and has the most beautiful glass house; the Great Conservatory.

Despite this actually being a London garden wedding venue, this truly feels like an escape to the countryside. The grandeur and history of Syon House and Park are impressive, and I’m completely in love with the Great Conservatory. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in the UK with an Orangery, this is a venue you can’t afford not to have on your shortlist!

For a Ceremony, Syon House offers the formal and majestic Great Hall which is licensed for up to 120 guests, or the State Dining Room for smaller Ceremonies with up to 50 guests. Post-ceremony drinks can be hosted within the private Inner Courtyard, the Colonnade which overlooks the beautiful water meadows or the State Apartments. Dinners and Evening Receptions take place in the stunning Great Conservatory, an incredible Orangery Glass House wedding venue. Filled with palms, exotic flowers and trees, this stunning precursor to the original Crystal Palace can host up to 160 guests for a seated dinner and can also be dressed for an evening of dancing following a meal.

Euridge Manor

Arriving at Euridge Manor feels as though you’ve stepped into a fairytale. Each corner of the estate holds a new treasure. The historic stone terrace overlooks the most beautiful lake. The stunning thatched boathouse has views across the rolling countryside hills, as well as looking back over the main house. Euridge Manor is available for a limited number of exclusive use weddings, and are licensed for Civil Ceremonies in 6 unique locations throughout the house and gardens. For dinner, the Orangery can accommodate 50 guests, or their spectacular ballroom can accommodate up to 180 guests. Alternatively, a bespoke marquee structure can be situated on the lawn for larger numbers.

Elmore Court

Elmore Court sits in the heart of the Cotswolds, and boasts something for everyone. The grand 13th Century family house, a sustainably built outdoor Reception venue, and its kitchen gardens are just the beginning of this gorgeous venues offerings.

The beautiful 13th Century main house offers four beautiful settings for a Ceremony; the largest of which is The Hall. Situated in the heart of the house, it is licensed for up to 150 guest and offers a classic setting for a Ceremony. For a Reception, The Gillyflower was built sustainably from Estate materials using traditional methods. However, it was designed to be a contemporary and inviting space, and is perfect  for dining (for up to 200 guests) and dancing (up to 400 guests) long into the evening. In-house catering is an exceptional offer, with food being sourced locally. They’re also in full swing of creating an incredible kitchen garden, with the most beautiful greenhouse – to be able to offer homegrown produce throughout their menus.

With 16 bedrooms in the main house, and a Coach House for 6, Elmore Court also offers somewhere for your guests to stay. For couples planning a long weekend, this is perfect, and you’re able to host a Rehearsal Dinner or a Farewell BBQ in one of the many locations in their grounds.
